Our future lies in recruiting more players and supporters (like you), whatever age and level of playing experience (even if you have never touched a rugby ball before). There is no obligation to join right away. Coming to a practice is the best way to experience rugby and the camaraderie of the Washington Renegades Rugby Football Club.

Membership Classifications

The Washington Renegades Rugby Football Club offers many opportunities for its members and supporters to contribute their time to the success of the Club. The Club understands that not everyone interested in the sport of rugby actually wants to be a playing member. With that in mind, the Club offer various options to those interested in getting involved.

Active Membership

The Washington Renegades offer Active Membership status to those who intend to be playing members in the Club's competitive match schedule, or who have a strong interest in serving an active role in the affairs of the organization. Active members are eligible to participate in competitive matches as part of the Club's team, have a full voice and vote in Club matters and are eligible to hold an administrative office. You do not have to play to be an active member of the Washington Renegades. The Organization encourages active members to attend or play in competitive matches/tournaments.

Official Fans of the Washington Renegades

Official Fans of the Washington Renegades Rugby Football Club include those who fully support the purposes of the Club. As an official fan, you will have the opportunity to provide moral, logistical, financial, recruiting and other support. The Washington Renegades encourage their fans to attend competitive matches/tournaments as well as social events sponsored by the Club.

Active Membership Dues

Without financial support, the Washington Renegades would not be able to function as a successful rugby football club. The Club gains its support though the active solicitation of businesses, in-kind contributions and donations and membership dues. Membership dues are necessary to pay for administrative expenses, social events, team matches and anything necessary to successfully carry out the functions of the rugby football club.

Active Membership Dues

• If you join between January and June, dues are $100.
• If you join between July and September, dues are $50.

Note: Dues are nonrefundable. In addition, Active Membership Dues are prorated. Individuals obtain Active Membership privileges only by paying membership dues and completing the Team Registration Form and CIPP Enrollment Form (for those interested in playing).

What does an Active Membership include?

Active Members:

• Have the opportunity to participate in matches as part of the Club's team.
• Have a full voice and vote in all decisions of the Club.
• May hold any office of the Club.
• May attend any Renegades-sponsored events.
• Are issued a team jersey when playing in a Club match/tournament.
• Participate in the administration of the Club.
• Have access to the Club's listserv.
• May participate in Club committees.
• Receive a copy of the club's This Week in Renegades Rugby e-newsletter.

Note: Active members are not obligated to play in any match/tournament.

Personal Expenses for Active Members

• Rugby boots (cleats), shorts, socks, and related uniform expenses.
• Match and tournament dues (typically $75/season)
• Rugby social functions not covered by the Club.
• Logistical arrangements associated with Club events, activities, and matches: arrangements may include lodging, meal expenses, and transportation.
• CIPP membership enrollment: Enrollment in CIPP (National Club and Individual Player Participation) is a mandatory requirement for all players, coaches, and officials currently active in USA Rugby (the national officiating body of the local, regional, and collegiate rugby teams). To be eligible to participate in any USA Rugby sanctioned event, you MUST complete the CIPP Enrollment Form and be in good standing with your territorial and local area unions (governing bodies). The Washington Renegades can provide you with an application for enrollment.

Official Fans of the Washington Renegades Dues

There is no fee to be an official fan. If you like, you may make a donation to the Club.

Official fan status includes:

• Access to the Washington Renegades fan listserv.
• Ability to practice with the team and to learn rugby.
• Receive a copy of the club's This Week in Renegades Rugby e-newsletter.

Guests of the Club

Guests of the Washington Renegades are encouraged to practice with the team and participate in Renegades' sponsored events (for a fee) while making a decision whether to join the Club as an Active Member. The Club encourages its Guests to attend competitive matches and tournaments.

Payment Information

The Club accepts three methods of payment:

2. You may pay the Club Treasurer in person by check, money order, or cash. The Treasurer is the ONLY member authorized to receive funds.
   
   
3. The club also accepts payments via PayPal.

If paying by check, please make your check payable to the "Washington Renegades Rugby Football Club." Membership dues may be payable in installments with prior authorization of the Treasurer. Dues are nonrefundable and are not prorated. Members will receive a receipt for payment upon request only.

Coach's Contribution

The Washington Renegades and its coach have agreed upon the following provisions regarding compensation:

• The Coach will be paid a stipend.
• The Coach will not pay membership dues.
• The Washington Renegades will cover the coach's team related expenses, excluding room and board for away matches.
